The second sacral chakra, as indicated by its name, is located in the sacral region. It opens towards the front as well as to the back. Usually, the front part of the trunk is associated to everything that is emotional in us, whereas the back part to issues of will and motivation.
The Sanskrit name of this center is Swadhisthana. You can follow the link to get more information about the other properties of this center, such as color, elements, crystals, planets and metals. Here I will discuss only one important psychological aspect related to our sex energy.
This energy center, to a higher degree the base chakra, is connected to our sexuality. It makes us what we are, male or female. If the person is weak, and without energy, one of the reasons may be a blocked sacral chakra.
If the sexual energy is blocked the very love is blocked. You cannot experience true love without the excitement you feel in this region of the body. The same holds true for our creativity.
We cannot express true creativity without energy. If we suppress our energy, we suppress everything, love, truth, creativity, inspiration. Too often we have heard that spirituality has nothing to do with sexuality. This is simply not true. Only the misuse of this energy, which often is a logical consequence of its suppression, is what is wrong.
So the energy that starts in our Root chakra, should flow through our second Sacral center, up though our solar plexus chakra, only to be transformed to love in Anahata, and joy in Vishuddha - our troat energy center.
That is why Swadhisthana is so important chakra.
I do not know about you, but I have been around the terms like chakra, prana, aura, kundalini and chakra energy healing or such similar expressions since a long time ago. Even before the New Age community was officially promoted there was a lot of literature on this subject in the bookstores. Maybe you will be surprised to find that such healing exists or is possible, but indeed chakra healing is something related to pranic healing.
Pranic healing, is an ancient eastern system of healing by using universal energy or Prana. What has our 7 chakras system in common with this universal energy? Let me put this simple:
What are the seven chakras is not portals for taking energy in our body. They connect us with the Universe, and similarly they also connect us with the energy in the Universe on various planes.
Our Auras, on the other hand are byproducts of the seven chakras. Think about it! … If the energy centers are sort of portals of energy, locations where the energy is being condensed and exchanged, then if we take a look at the whole body, there will be some combined energy fields or Auras… It makes sense…
If you can see this field you can see the aura. As simple as that. … But make no mistake, this field is not consisted exactly of visible or measurable particles. It takes a deeper insight for that sort of clairvoyance. But it does not matter if you dont! You can still work on it.
This type of treatment we are talking about here is consisting of balancing our chakras, so as to establish a proper and healthy aura.
What does chakra balancing means? It means our chakras can be closed, our chakras can be blocked, our chakras can even rotate in the wrong direction assimilating the wrong energy from the environment. By balancing them, we can correct for all these deficiencies … we can align them one by one …. we can open them … and as a result we can establish a healthy and strong aura.
It pays off o learn about our chakras, it pays off to start working on them, if not for spiritual growth or anything else, then for improving your own health.
The first chakra is located at theĀ bottom of the spine. It is of red color, it regulates the bodily functions, and the feelings of pleasantness and pain.It can regulate the amount of bodily energy and will for life, self-preservation, survival and grounding. With the first chakra
With the first chakra we have linked all the actions on the material level, our relationship with the earth. If working properly, this chakra can promote strong will for life that is manifested into bodily strength and vitality.
If blocked, or closed, we block or close our vitality; it makes us feel as if we are not present. Spiritual and physical fatigue are taking over, fear and lack of confidence are manifesting. People then believe that the outer world is a scary place, without comfort or counsel.
Block first chakra can cause anemia, arthritis, hemorrhoids, tumors or cancer in the area, and bad circulation.
The Vishudha chakra is situated in the area of the troat. This is a center of cleansing. On the physical level it is connected to the vocal cords and it is a center of expression. This chakra is connected to the element of Akasha, and is considered intellectual energy center.

Vishudha is a center of communication and affects our willing, resolution and possibility of making choice. It has to do with the process of creation on the mental level, accepting the world and adapting to it.
The consequences of unbalanced fifth chakra vishudha are the following:
inability to express feelings and needs,
inability to express one’s own attitude,
overprotection directed towards other people,
inability to cry, or grieve.
Blocked Vishudha chakra is associated with stage fright, problems with the Thyroidea, and headaches due to stiffness in the upper part of the neck.
The seventh chakra of our body is sahasrara. It is the highest spiritual center of our body, although some say if we explore the area above and beyond our head there we will find additional seven chakras.

That is to say, at the present level of evolution of humanity, we can expect an average individual to work on the basic seven chakras. In some distant future, we will hopefully be allowed to work on the next seven chakras, which are at present non-comprehensible to us.
So, the seventh energy is probably the only of the seven chakras that has not been affected in negative sense by negative influences. Therefore we can alway expect help from the higher spiritual realms of existence, which comes through this crown center at the top of our heads.
All the other centers are subject to negative as well as positive influences and energies and we have to work and grow in our spiritual development, in order to become strong enough to reject the negativities.
Even the seventh chakra sahasrara is beyond the reach of the average spiritual seeker. Once awaken this center can connect us strongly to the spiritual levels. Have you ever seen the halo portrayed around the head of saints?
This halo is nothing else but the seventh top chakra, which has evolved. It has evolved from a center dedicated to receiving Divine energies, to a center capable of irradiating Divine energies. This is due to the fact that this energy center can grow and expand if a person is devoted to spirituality without limitations.
In the oriental literature this energy center is depicted as thousand petal lotus flower which is nothing else but a Divine lotus. Having in mind that the first base lotus chakra has only four petals, you can imagine the importance and the potential of this chakra.
Crystals that are especially suited for the seventh chakra are transparent, colorless ones, with high purity and clarity. For example, you can choose rock crystal, herkimer diamond, topaz, or angelite.
The 7 chakras of our body are arranged in such a way as to ascend starting from the first root chakra up to the seventh crown chakra, which is located at the highest possible point at the top of our head. Out of the seven chakras we cannot single out any particular energy center since they all work together aiming at creating balance, peace, proper functioning, and harmony in our microcosm.
The upper chakras are responsible for creating the right bodily processes.
Each of the seven main chakras has a distinct definite purpose in the body. The location of the chakras is indicative to the task that each of them is responsible for. The vibrations of the chakras indicates the body how to act in response to the given situation. Without our chakras, our bodies would be empty and we would not be able to create balance in our lives.
I thought it would be great to create this mini blog and tell you something about the 7 chakras or energy centers that everyone of us possesses. The seven chakras are not something, of course, that you would encounter during your everyday life, unless you are really involved in meditation, yoga, spirituality or similar subjects. But regardless of whether you you have heard or not about these seven centers, you have them inside of you (within your energy body, or etheric body as it is often called). So it is really beneficial to everybody if one can learn something about them, especially what are the most important features of these seven energy centers, their chakra energy, and where their location is.
Now I am just going to name the 7 chakras, starting from the bottom of the spinal cord up to the top of the head. I will use their English names along with their Indian names as they are very well known by their Sanskrit designations.
First - the root chakra - Muladhara
Second - the sacral chakra - Swadhisthana or Svadhisthana
Third - the solar plexus chakra - Manipura
Fourth - the hearth chakra - Anahata
Fifth - the throat chakra - Vissudha
Sixth - the thrd eye chakra - Ajna
Seventh - the crown chakra - Sahasrara
